Venue Details & Services

What is the capacity of Clava Mains?

Clava Mains can accommodate up to 120 guests for a seated dinner in the Main Building and up to 160 in our Marquee. The Marquee can also be expanded to accommodate larger numbers for an additional fee. 

Do you offer both indoor and outdoor spaces?

Yes, we offer a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, including our Long Room, Pagoda and Marquee, as well as a cobbled courtyard, and our BBQ area. The estate offers beautiful scenes for photographs. 

What amenities and facilities are included in the rental fee?

Your rental agreement is from 9am on the first day of rental to 9am on the last day of rental. 

All tables, chairs, tablecloths (white) and napkins (white) are provided for the wedding breakfast. Additional chairs need to be rented for extra set-ups and evening guests. Glassware is provided for requested drinks package and for corkage set-ups. 

We ask that all decorations be removed by the end date and time of your rental agreement.

Do you provide in-house catering?

Yes, we offer in-house catering with a variety of menu options to suit your preferences and dieteary needs. You can view our menu options on our website.

Can we bring our own vendors?

Our in-house catering team provide excellent menu options. You can view our menus on our website. We are happy to discuss vendor options, but it is not always possible.

Is there an on-site coordinator available on the day of the wedding?

Yes, an on-site coordinator will be available to assist with the smooth running or your event and to ensure everything goes according to plan. 

Booking & Availability

How can I check availability and book Clava Mains for my wedding?

How far in advance should I book Clava Mains?

We recommend booking as early as possible, ideally 12-18 months in advance, to secure your preferred date. 

What is your deposit and payment policy?

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 28 days prior to your wedding date. All bank details are provided with our invoices. 

General Information

What are your opening hours for viewings and visits?

Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays are the best days to view and visit Clava Mains. Appointments can be made via our website. If the dates or times listed are not suitable to you, please contact us to arrange a better time.

Where is Clava Mains located?

Clava Mains, Daviot Estate, Inverness, IV2 5ER is ten minutes south of Inverness, just off the A9. 

Do you have on-site parking available?

Yes, we offer ample on-site car parking for all your guests. 

Additional Services

Do you offer accommodation for guests?

While we do not offer on-site accommodation, The Dairy at Daviot (our neighbours) have 6 self-catering cottages connected to Clava Mains via the courtyard. There are also several nearby hotels. We can provide recommendations. 

Can we hold our rehearsal dinner at Clava Mains?

Yes, Clava Mains is available for rehearsal dinners. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

What is your policy on decorations and setup?

You are welcome to decorate Clava Manis to your liking – using the hooks provided. If you’d like more time to prepare, we advise hiring the venue the day before your wedding to make it perfect for your day.

Do you have a list of recommended suppliers for photography, music, etc?

Yes, we have a list of trusted suppliers for photography, music, flowers, and more. You can find our preferred suppliers list on our website.

Policies & Restrictions

Are there any noise restrictions?

Yes, we comply with all local noise restrictions. All amplified music must end by midnight. Background music after this time must be kept at a low level and is controlled by Clava Mains.

Do you have any restrictions on alcohol?

Yes. Clava Mains is a fully licensed premises and, therefore, all alcohol must be provided by Clava Mains. Corkage arrangements can be made for drinks receptions and wedding breakfast drinks. No other alcohol is permitted on the premises – indoors or outdoors – including our car park.

What is your cancellation policy?

In the case of cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable.

Cancellation of Wedding

Up to 9 months before commencement of the rental period, there is no charge, apart from the loss of the deposit. 

6-9 months before the rental period, there is a 60% charge of the total rent. 

Less than 6 months before the commencement of the rental period, the full outstanding balance of the total rent will be due.

Cancellation of Catering

Up to 2 months before the commencement of the rental period, 20% of the catering cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.

Less than 2 months but more than 1 month before the commencement of the rental period, 50% of the catering cost will be charged as a cancellation fee. 

Less than 1 month before the commencement of the rental period, the full outstanding balance of the catering cost will be due.
